BIOGRAPHY
The name given to her at birth was an accidental (or maybe hopeful?) foreshadowing of what life would be like for Taeyeon. Aside from the stereotypical fights siblings close in age perpetuated, life was otherwise calm and maybe a little boring in the Kim household. Her parents owned and worked in an optical shop in the city while she and her brother went to school and came home to do their studies at their home in the outskirts of Jeonju. Jiwoong and Taeyeon's lives were monitored fairly strictly given that their parents couldn't be at home to watch them during the day; CCTVs were mounted outside, the neighbors kept watch (and of course they were very good at it, nosy as they were) and there were scheduled calls from the store that expected an answer every time. No exceptions. Naturally, this created a bit of a rebellious spirit in each of the Kim siblings (even little Hayeon). A few times Taeyeon got in trouble at school for cutting class with friends and Jiwoong got caught smoking frequently. Someone even started a rumor that he joined one of the local gangs.
Spending most of her days alone made Taeyeon a very self-reliant, independent young woman. She learned to do her make-up by, "secretly", playing with whatever she could find in her mother's vanity, braided hers and Hayeon's hair for school, read her father's collection of car magazines, etc. She played well by herself, too, listening to the radio while she did her homework, reading comics she stole from her brother's room, doodling and writing in her journal. Whatever she did, she did it alone and like this it became second nature. In high school this meant she fell behind socially, keeping a few close friends but the rest joining the more chattier, popular crowd. This was somewhat of a silver lining when the time came for Taeyeon to leave for college, the few friends she kept leaving for Seoul with her.
To everyone's surprise, including her parents, the freedom that came with being 194 kilometers (and some change) away from home did unchain the rebeliousness Taeyeon displayed growing up. In fact, it actually made her shut in a little more than usual. Set a bird free and sometimes they don't know what to do with themselves. Well, this bird, anyway. So she was easily influenced by her anchors, her old pals who reminded her of what she left behind; thankfully they weren't the worst influences. Second semester of Freshman year she pledged to Kappa Delta, went to the occassional party and even a few dates. As long as her friends were there, she was there and vice versa.

01. Truly the queen of indecisiveness; has changed her major a total of three times (Art -> Space Science -> Human Sexuality -> Communications-> Transcience)
02. While she will eat virtually anything (except nuts), she has a major sweet tooth and carries around an assortment of candy in her backpack at all times. Also can be found with a smoothie in her hand nine times out of ten (the other time it's probably an Americano, usually after a rough bought of insomnia). Her fridge is also stocked to reflect her tastes, which would make anyone who took a peek inside think a toddler lives there, instead of a twenty-four year old.
03. Has two pets, Ginger the dog and a dudleya cactus she affectionately calls Dudley-ah. She plans on accumulating more after she graduates.
04. She dabbles in new obsessions frequently; a jack of all trades and a master of none. Whatever catches her attention long enough to keep her distracted, basically. To name a few: disney, nail art, coloring books, nano blocks, skateboarding, harry potter, Snapchat, anything scented, SNL Korea, hot cheetos, Victoria's Secret, mobile games (!!!!), skincare, binge watching tv shows and movies, etc etc.
05. If someone doesn't drag her out of her room/apartment, she will stay inside for weeks at a time. With the exception of class and work, of course. When she feels overwhelmed she tends to hole herself away from any and everyone, which is both good and bad. Taeyeon is the sort of person that picks at herself about every little thing and time spent alone is the perfect opportunity for her thoughts to drag her undercurrent.
06. Suffers from insomnia and thus spends most of her nights staying up well into the morning. Usually she listens to jazz music and has a beer or two to help relax. If it gets bad enough, sometimes she might miss a day or two of class.
